Titleist's softer, mid-flight ball.

Titleist's higher-flying ball, with more spin on full shots.
Not sure what they play? The model name is printed on every ball: check one in their bag, or ask a playing partner.

The Pro V1. Titleist describes the Pro V1 as having a soft feel and the Pro V1x as having a firmer feel.
Yes, by Titleist's description: the Pro V1 has a mid trajectory and the Pro V1x flies higher. For the 2025 model Titleist lowered the Pro V1x's peak height to stay within the USGA's Overall Distance Standard, and it still flies higher than the Pro V1.
Off the tee both are low-spin balls. On full shots, irons included, Titleist says the Pro V1x spins more. Around the green both share the same soft cast urethane cover, and Titleist lists maximum short-game spin for the Pro V1.
The 2025 Pro V1 has 388 dimples and the 2025 Pro V1x has 348, both in a spherically tiled tetrahedral pattern.
Yes. Titleist sells both as custom orders with play numbers from 00 to 99, personal text or a logo, and both can be ordered with more pronounced alignment markings. Custom balls are made to order, so allow extra time before a birthday, the holidays or Father's Day.
Look at a ball in their bag first: the model name is printed on it. If you can't find out, we would guess the softer Pro V1 for feel; the Pro V1x suits a player who wants a higher flight and more spin on full shots.
A third Titleist tour ball: a high flight similar to the Pro V1x, much lower long-game spin and a firmer feel. Titleist released a new version in January 2026. It suits fewer golfers, so give it only if it is already their ball.
